30 Places to Know in Punta Cana PART 2

As we mentioned in our previous article, our series 30 Places to know in Punta Cana in 30 Days was so much appreciated that we decided to make a summary with all those places and their respective location on the map. We continue today with the second part of our list, featuring the episodes from day 11 to day 20.

11. Punta Cana Village

Punta Cana Village is the heart and soul of Punta Cana Resort and Club. Here you’ll find lots of restaurants, shops, a pharmacy, banks, regional headquarters of main insurance companies, a clinic, schools and of course a large residential area.

12. Jumbo

This is the largest supermarket in the Punta Cana strip, and is located in Bavaro. Here you can find fresh groceries, cosmetics, clothes, electronics, footwear and toys. A little bit of everything you might need.

13. Hard Rock Café

Hard Rock Cafe Punta Cana is located in Downtown Punta Cana, easily accessible from the main highway. Here you’ll find the classic American dining experience infused with local cuisine, rock music and live shows. They also have a bar and outdoor patio.

14. Marlin

Located at each of the two entrances to the San Juan Shopping Center, these huge statues are famous among tourists looking for unique photos for their social media. Each statue is more than 15 feet tall (5 meters) so you cannot miss them out.

15. Cocotal

Cocotal Golf & Country Club is a gated community located in Bávaro, on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Caribbean: Punta Cana. It’s only 20 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport and is developed by Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts.

Cocotal covers an area of about 2 square km and has 1 linear kilometer of the fabulous Bávaro Beach. Its name comes from the large number of coconut trees scattered all over the golf course. Cocotal is the home of a real estate community called “Palma Real Villas”. 16. Nacional

Located near Punta Cana Village, and right across the Punta Cana International Airport, Nacional it’s a supermarket with a great selection of fresh groceries, and it has the largest variety of imported goods in Punta Cana.

17. Downtown

Downtown Punta Cana is the largest commercial and entertainment in Punta Cana. Here you’ll find one of the largest supermarkets in the area, banks, shops, restaurants and night clubs.

18. Playa Turquesa

Although its name translate as Turquoise Beach, this is in fact a small plaza with a pharmacy, minimarket and various restaurants, some of them pretty famous in Bavaro area. Some restaurants have entertainment and live music in the evenings so people come together here for a nice dinner and some fun.

19. San Juan Shopping Center

Located on the main boulevard called Avenida Barcelo, this shopping mall was the first mall in Bavaro Punta Cana. Here you’ll find a grocery store, banks, shops, restaurants and the only cinema theatre in Punta Cana.

20. Jellyfish

Jelly Fish Beach is one of the public beaches from Bavaro Punta Cana. The name comes from the restaurant located here which is quite famous among residents.
